Akebia quinata "Amethyst Glow" ™
Flower color is initially a soft coral-pink, changing to a light amethyst
in its later stages. The male and female flowers are borne
on racemes in mid-Spring. The male and female flowers are
separate but carried on the same inflorescence, the females
at the base and the males at the tip. Male flowers are more
red-purple and female flowers more pink. Lovely because it
is scented and retains the scent very well.
The fruits are sausage shaped 2-4" in length and dark purple to black.
Mature
height to 9 m (25' to 30').
Foliage has five notched leaftlets .
