New Licensing Company Combines Products and Expertise to
Expand Service

Pride of Place Plants and HortisHolland have cooperated together
with Cassy Bright to form HortisUSA LLC, a full service breeder
representation company based in California.
Pride of Place Plants Inc and HortisHolland BV will continue
as separate, complimentary entities. There will be no change
in management or operation in either of these businesses.
In combining product lines and expertise the new company creates
a well rounded mix of products and services. The advantage of
HortisUSA is to offer breeders, growers and propagators a streamlined
experience. Breeders benefit from a company with global representation,
promotion, trials, plant breeders’ rights and trademarks
issues all handled in one company. Propagators and growers will
find a comprehensive product listing, including perennials, deciduous
flowering shrubs, broadleaf evergreens, potted flowering plants,
foliage crops, groundcovers annuals and cut flowers.
The three owners each bring more than ten years experience in
international variety licensing. This offers breeders a depth
of expertise and excellent access to all world markets.
The new venture was unofficially released in March 2007, meeting
with much enthusiasm from breeders and growers. The California
based company will be run by managing director Cassy Bright.
