Gaura lindheimeri "Blaze" ™
Flowers: Dark pink flowers providing a lengthy eye catching display.
Set off dark red foliage.
A compact, stiff, upright cultivar. This Gaura
remains upright and stiff and does not flop open or from side
to side which is uncommon. The
foliage is a dark red as depicted in the photo and stays that
way throughout the entire growing season Summer and Fall. Even
in the West Coast climate Gaura Blaze withstands the rains they
receive in all seasons.
Planting: Easy to grow requiring little maintenance and tolerates
a variety of soils, best in well-drained, moist and fertile soils.
Grows in hot, dry conditions but mulching and occasional deep
watering is recommended.
Prune: Cut off the top 1/3 of the plant in early spring to promote
flower production.
